Assessment & Planning
The Firm Foundation Learning Center is not a billable insurance service. Our assessments, completed within the first two sessions, are not for diagnostic purposes but rather to develop the individualized treatment intervention plan to ensure academic success. Families may request our assessment report(s) be provided to their diagnostician/pediatrician to aid in the determination of a diagnosis. Our tutoring sessions provide remediation in math, reading, writing, and handwriting, and our tutors are considered educational consultants. We do not provide occupational therapy services but can refer out if we find that your child needs more intensive, skilled services.
Family Expectations
After the second session, the student will have a weekly practice item to take home in their 1” ringed notebook. This notebook is to maintain a record of lessons and notes between sessions and must be brought every week. Becoming literate across subjects is an ongoing process; therefore, your support at home is a vital part of your child’s success and learning journey. You understand that weekly progress will be slow without midweek support at home and that questions should be sent promptly to your tutor as needed. Families can reach their tutor through the Noto portal or their tutor’s personal email.
Scheduling & Cancelations
Learning sessions are 55 minutes long and held once a week. Please note that missed time due to tardiness cannot be made up, and sessions start and end at the scheduled times. Each session is one-on-one to support your child’s progress, but guardians are always welcome to observe if they wish. Your child's safety and comfort are our top priorities. Please submit any planned absences by the 30th of the month prior. This can be adjusted directly through your Noto Member Portal, or you can email us at hello@thefirmfoundationtn.com. Consistent attendance helps your child’s growth and honors our tutors’ time. For emergencies, email us directly at hello@thefirmfoundationtn.com to request one make-up lesson. Make-ups must be scheduled within 90 days and confirmed in advance. If a make-up is missed, it cannot be rescheduled.
Invoicing & Payment
55-minute 1-on-1 sessions are $60. Monthly payments will recur on the 7th of each month for all scheduled sessions. Anticipated absences must be sent to hello@thefirmfoundationtn.com or adjusted directly in the Noto Portal by the 30th of the month prior.
Your monthly tutoring subscription is indefinite unless you request an adjustment or cancellation to your lesson schedule, or it is determined that the student has made enough progress to discontinue services. If you must end services, please allow a 2-week notice when possible.
Ways to Pay
ACH through Noto is the preferred method of payment, as there is no transaction fee. Physical checks may be sent to The Firm Foundation Learning Center, with your child's name and the month in the memo prior to the 7th, but a card must still be kept on file.
Credit Card payments are available through the invoice or Noto Portal but are subject to a 3.5% fee per transaction. This fee covers a portion of the processing charges incurred by the center.
No cash will be kept on the premises.
The card on file will be charged by the 15th of the month if the invoice has not been paid in full, and the charge will be subject to a 5% late fee.
